We welcome groups (companies, churches, friends,
families, etc) who would like to build with us. We do have some requirements (See below), but in general, we take anyone.
Due to the nature of our work and the need to coordinate
and match skill and experience levels, we do ask that groups prearrange their visit by calling the Habitat office, 281-337-3590.
We will work to find a mutually agreeable date when appropriate work will be going on.
It is customary that large groups provide lunch not only for their group, but they also share the meal
with all other volunteers at the site. We have picnic tables on site with available canopies for extra sunny days.
Youth Volunteers:
We welcome young people to participate in the mission
of Habitat; however, need to be able to guarantee their safety. For that reason, we utilize the recommendations offered by
Habitat International regarding participation of young people.
In general - 16 years is the Minimum age on the building worksite.
Persons under 18 years are not permitted to engage in certain activities (roofing, power tools, etc)
Decisions
of the Construction superintendents in this area are final.
