How to Qualify for a Home?

WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR OUR HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM

Bay Area Habitat for Humanity- Houston Inc. builds new homes in Dickinson Texas for qualified participants and sells that home to them with a NO INTEREST LOAN to be paid back in 20-30 years.

BASIC CRITERIA:


1. Applicant needs to live in our service area (Serving Dickinson, Clear Creek and Sante Fe Independent School Districts).

2. Applicant needs to have a stable income that meets our income guidelines with a history of being responsible for their debt.

Ex: Family of 4 needs to have YEARLY income of at least $27,000 but not more than $32,000 counting all forms of income).

3. Applicant needs to have a housing need.

Ex: overcrowding, unsafe or unsanitary conditions or unable to get a conventional home loan.

4. Applicant needs to be a US citizen or applying for permanent residents.

5. Applicant needs to be willing to partner with habitat to work a minimum of 350 "Sweat Equity Hours" in construction on their home and other partner family’s homes.

6. Mortgage payments are between $500-600 per month which includes principle, taxes & insurance.
