Women Build facts

  • Women are a powerful social and economic force with the means to both fund and construct homes where children can flourish.

  • Women-built projects provide an opportunity for women to learn new skills, participate in team-building activities and make a lasting difference for children and families.

  • A total of more than 450 Women Build homes have been built worldwide. This year will be Bay Area-Houston Habitat's 4th Women Build.

  • These homes seek to address the growing problem of children living in poverty in the U.S.
  • Currently, 12 million U.S. children (1 in 6) live in poverty, which is a severe threat to their health, growth and potential.
