Bay Area Habitat Cheers to Thirty Years Gala
What an unforgettable evening! In celebration of Bay Area Habitat’s 30th anniversary, we hosted a fundraising gala at the beautiful Dickinson First United Methodist Church, which allowed us to further spread our mission, raise money to continue building affordable housing for our homeowners, and dedicate a night to thanking our sponsors, volunteers, homeowners, veterans, and others. We raised over $50,000 that evening!
This event was unlike any other! We started the night off with a beautiful pre-dinner party at the Dickinson Railroad Museum, with wine from Algodon Fine Wines and delicious appetizers from HEB. The League City Intermediate Steel Pan Ensemble played while our guests mingled, creating a lively environment.
Afterwards, we moved to Dickinson First United Methodist Church, where we hosted our dinner. That portion of the night consisted of speeches detailing our mission, a delicious dinner sponsored by Marais and Timothy Turnley, gorgeous desserts from the Clear Springs High School Culinary Program, and a beautiful performance by the Clear Falls High School Troubadours. We are grateful that our guests wanted to learn more about how they can join Bay Area Habitat in serving the community.
The last portion of the evening was the Bay Area Chorus concert, followed by our silent auction! The performance by the Bay Area Chorus was breathtaking — the songs sung were in honor of the veterans who serve or have served our country and highlighted themes that resonate with Bay Area Habitat such as unity, community, and gratitude. We are extremely grateful that we had this opportunity to work with the Bay Area Chorus. The night then ended with photobooth pictures and bid wars between family and friends.
It is because of YOU that we are able to do what we do. Thirty years spent building strong families and neighborhoods is an accomplishment that we are extremely proud of. Having built over 170 homes during this time, and repairing/renovating hundreds of others, we feel at peace knowing that we are giving members of our community a better place to live.
With nearly 400,000 people living in substandard housing in our community, it is our responsibility to help those who need us — because everyone deserves a decent place to live.
Please consider joining our mission by volunteering or making a donation! We need your talents, support, and resources in order to make a difference.
