On November 9, 2024, Bay Area Habitat for Humanity Houston hosted the 2024 Tuxes & Tennies Gala at South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center, embracing a lively “Homefield Advantage” football theme. The evening was a heartfelt celebration of unity, generosity, and community impact.
Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, guests, and volunteers, we raised over $80,000 to help build safe, affordable homes for families in need right here in our community!
The event began at 6:00 PM with guests exploring the foyer, featuring auction items, a photo booth, and a wine pull. Inside the ballroom, the “Hall of Frames”—door frames adorned with string lights and Habitat family photos—invited guests to leave heartfelt messages of encouragement. Each signature will forever be part of a future Habitat home in Texas City, creating a tangible legacy of hope and compassion.
At 7:00 PM, the program kicked off with inspiring remarks from Page Rander, Gala Chair and Board Secretary; Megan Scheffer, Executive Director; and Amy Parham, CEO of Habitat Texas. Guests enjoyed performances by the Bay Area Habitat Singers, a touching testimony from Board Member Marge Ellison, and a moving video featuring Dalia, a new homeowner sharing her journey.
The night concluded with an exciting live auction and plenty of dancing, leaving everyone with lasting memories and a sense of accomplishment.
