Hands-On Experience with a Lifelong Impact

We are proud to collaborate with the talented carpentry students from Texas City ISD ITC & the construction students from Alvin ISD JB Hensler College & Career Academy.

These dedicated students are putting their skills to work by crafting beautiful sheds that will accompany our Habitat homes.

Texas City ISD ITC carpentry students

It’s inspiring to see the next generation explore their passion for skilled trades through service.

Imagine moving into your new Habitat home with a shed built with care and expertise by the bright young minds in your own community—what a meaningful connection!

If your school or organization is interested in partnering with us on similar projects, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can build stronger communities and brighter futures!

Every Habitat family has a unique story. Help us make every journey special.

Are you an expert in home maintenance? Are you part of a garden club that is looking for ways to further engage the community? Are you in the construction industry with services that could improve our efficiency? Do you want to expose your brand to a large group of community volunteers and future patrons?

Whether you are donating to our silent auction or planting a garden for our Habitat homes, you are making a difference. Thank you for your partnership!

Our homeownership program empowers neighbors to become confident, well-prepared, and self-reliant homeowners! Habitat families work diligently to earn at least 200 hours of sweat equity before purchasing their homes.

Sweat equity hours can be earned in various meaningful ways, including building homes alongside volunteers on the job site, participating in financial literacy and homeownership courses, and contributing to the community through volunteer service. Even children can pitch in—good report cards count toward sweat equity too!

We’re always exploring new and creative ways to help Habitat families meet their sweat equity and personal goals. Could you host a home maintenance workshop? Does your organization offer financial literacy presentations at local libraries? Interested in supporting our homeowners but unsure how?

We’d love to hear from you! Email us at info@bahfh.org to learn more.

Our groundbreaking ceremonies mark the official start of construction for a new Habitat home. This event brings together key stakeholders, such as the future homeowner, community members, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and local officials, to commemorate the occasion.

Typically, our ceremony involves a brief program with speeches from city officials and sponsors and a blessing of the ground, followed by the symbolic act of “breaking ground,” where participants use shovels to turn over soil at the project site. Groundbreaking ceremonies serve as a powerful reminder of the community effort that makes these milestones possible.

If you or your organization would like to be a part of this joyous event for one of our upcoming Habitat builds, please contact us at info@bahfh.org.

A wall raising ceremony is a unique volunteer opportunity where the future homeowner works alongside volunteers to lift the walls of their home into place. This powerful moment represents the collective effort of volunteers, donors, and the future homeowner in building a strong foundation for a brighter future.

Wall raising ceremonies are meaningful events that unite the community to celebrate the tangible impact of their support and the start of a new chapter in the homeowner’s life.

If you are interested in sponsoring light refreshments for this inspiring occasion, please contact us at info@bahfh.org.

A home dedication is a special ceremony that celebrates the completion of a Habitat for Humanity home and honors the future homeowner’s journey to achieving homeownership. This milestone reflects months of hard work, including sweat equity, financial education, and the collective efforts of volunteers, donors, and the community.

During the dedication, attendees gather at the new home for a brief program featuring speeches, a blessing of the home, a key transfer, and the presentation of housewarming gifts. It’s a personalized and meaningful way to celebrate the homeowner’s achievement and the community’s shared commitment to safe, affordable housing.

Would your organization like to present a housewarming gift or donate books for their new shelves? Are you interested in capturing this memorable day with your photography skills? Reach out to us at info@bahfh.org to contribute to this heartwarming occasion!
