The wall raising ceremony for a Habitat home is one of the most inspiring moments in the homebuilding journey! It’s when volunteers come together with Habitat families to lift the first walls of the house that they will soon call home.
In October, Rocio and her family experienced this milestone as they raised the walls of their future home alongside enthusiastic volunteers from Celanese and the Nail Gunners. Following a successful stud-a-thon with the La Porte community, colorful studs adorned with heartfelt, encouraging messages added a personal touch to the framework of Rocio’s home. This special Habitat home is generously sponsored by Marge Ellison, with land sponsorship provided by Celanese.
In December, Crystal and her family celebrated their wall raising with dedicated volunteers from Valero and the Nail Gunners. A month earlier, guests at our 2024 Tuxes & Tennies Gala left inspiring messages on our “Hall of Frames” display. Now, Crystal will be reminded of the community’s unwavering support and prayers each time she walks through the doorways of her home.
